The Recruitment & Retention Conference Wraps Up Today

Thank you to all who attended this year’s Recruitment & Retention Conference. We had a great time celebrating 10 years of bringing new strategies and innovation to driver recruiting and retention. Not only did this year’s conference attendees have access to exceptional speakers and workshops on recruiting and retention, but they also had the opportunity to network with other recruiting and retention professionals in the trucking industry.

Today was the final day of the conference, which featured two extremely informative general sessions. In the morning, Eric Starks, president of FTR Associates, addressed the impact of the current economic market on driver recruitment. Starks discussed the trends that have the greatest amount in influence on recruitment plans. During the second general session, Ed Newman spoke about implementing new technology in the recruitment process to gain a competitive advantage among other carriers. Newman, vice president of strategy for iMomentous, talked about how the sudden appearance of mobile technology and cloud computing has created a perfect environment for innovation in driver recruitment.

Conference attendees also had the opportunity to choose one last breakout workshop, which included an interactive small group discussion on recruiting and retention challenges and successes, a session on how important regulatory and compliance requirements relate to the hiring process and impact driver recruitment, and a workshop discussing how carriers and truck driver training schools should collaborate to recruit and retain new drivers to the industry.

Our 10th Annual Recruitment & Retention Conference this year was a huge success. We couldn’t have done it without all of our amazing speakers, panelists and moderators. We also want to take a moment to thank our many sponsors for their continued support. Our sponsors this year included Driver iQ; EBE, Inc.; TripPak SERVICES; Indeed; HireRight, Inc.; Trucker Jobs App; Randall-Reilly Publishing Company, LLC; JiggyJobs.com; and Sirius XM Radio. A special thanks in particular goes out to Truckload Carriers Association who partnered with us in presenting this incredible conference. Thank you again to all of you who made this conference our best yet. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
